In April, Vietnam's cotton imports continued to rise both year-on-year and month-on-month. According to statistics, in April 2024, Vietnam imported 132,900 tons of cotton, representing a year-on-year increase of 7% and a month-on-month increase of 3.7%. By country, the main sources of Vietnam's cotton imports in April were the United States, Brazil, and Australia, with imports of 53,100 tons, 39,800 tons, and 11,400 tons respectively, accounting for 39.98%, 29.94%, and 8.6% of the total imports.
Yarn imports rose year-on-year but fell month-on-month in April 2024
In April 2024, Vietnam imported 104,700 tons of yarn, a 24.5% increase year-on-year and a 0.7% decrease month-on-month. By country, the import pattern remained consistent with the previous year, with China being the main source. Vietnam imported 71,794 tons of yarn from China, accounting for about 68.57% of the total imports.
